The fight occurred at a Nashville bar on April 29 during the team’s just-completed eight-game road trip, a source in the organization said. Hatcher refused to disclose the reason for the fight. “I’m not getting into that; can’t do it,” he said Tuesday evening as the Zephyrs prepared for their game against the Iowa Cubs at Zephyr Field. “I’m suspended for conduct detrimental to the team. Unfortunately (the incident) happened, and I’m going to leave it at that.” It took place after the Zephyrs beat the Sounds 9-4. Neither Dyson nor Hatcher pitched in that game. “It happens,” Zephyrs manager Andy Haines said. “I don’t know exactly what happened, but we’re trying to forward.” Hatcher was suspended May 1, meaning he is eligible to return Wednesday against Iowa. Dyson had surgery in Miami and is going on the disabled list. He is expected to miss six weeks, the source said. Hatcher said he has spoken with Dyson since the incident, but didn’t want to say what was said. “There’s a lot up in the air,” Hatcher said. Dyson has made eight appearances this season and is 0-1 with a 2.76 earned-run average over 16.1 innings. He has 13 strikeouts and six walks. Hatcher (0-2, 2.51), who tied a Pacific Coast League record with 33 saves last season, has been used as both a closer and set-up man this season. Notes Pitcher Matt Montgomery was promoted from Jacksonville along with James Nygren, who pitched for the Zephyrs last season. The Marlins also optioned reliever Dan Jennings to the Zephyrs on Saturday. Montgomery, who missed last season after having Tommy John surgery, has pitched just three innings this season with the Suns. He will start Wednesday’s game.
