Shooting at Central City club Sunday night leaves one man dead, New Orleans police say

Officers responding to reports of gunfire at a Central City club Sunday night found a man shot to death lying in the street, New Orleans police said.

The 28-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld until family members can be notified. The shooting occurred before 10:30 p.m. at 2400 Dryades Street, at the Second Street intersection, police said in a news release.

The investigation is on-going and detectives are working to determine a motive and gather information. Homicide Detective Rayell Johnson is in charge of the investigation and can be contacted at 504-658-5300.
