New chancellor named at Delgado New chancellor named at Delgado Capitol news bureau March 01, 2014 Comments The board overseeing Louisiana’s community and technical colleges appointed Debbie Lea as interim chancellor of Delgado Community College, in New Orleans. She fills a vacancy created Feb. 19 when former Delgado Chancellor Monty Sullivan was installed as president of the Louisiana Community and Technical College System. Sullivan praised Lea’s appointment in a prepared statement released Thursday. “She is well respected by the students, the faculty, and staff and the community,” he said. “She is a proven leader with a long and successful track record.” Before taking over as interim chancellor, Lea served as vice chancellor for academic affairs and provost at Delgado. According to the news release, she has a master’s degree from the University of New Orleans, bachelor’s degree from William Carey University, in Mississippi, associate degree from Delgado and diploma from Charity School of Radiologic Technology.
