The Neighborhood Conservation District Committee has approved a proposal to demolish seven buildings at Elysian Fields and North Claiborne avenues to make way for a 13,600-square-foot CVS pharmacy.

Under the plan, all the buildings on the western side of Elysian Fields between North Derbigny Street and Claiborne would be torn down. The buildings to be razed include a gas station, car wash, funeral home, two residential structures and several modular metal structures.

The parking lot for the CVS would be at the Claiborne-Elysian Fields corner.
