Jefferson man dead after crash on twin spans Jefferson man dead after crash on twin spans Advocate staff report Feb. 22, 2014 Comments A Jefferson Parish man died Monday night after he lost control of his SUV on the Interstate 10 twin-span bridges between New Orleans and Slidell, authorities said. John Crosby, 69, was driving east on the bridge about 8:30 p.m. when, for unknown reasons, his SUV hit a guard rail. He died at the scene, said Officer Garry Flot, a New Orleans Police Department spokesman. An autopsy found Crosby died of multiple internal injuries suffered during the crash, said John Gagliano, the Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office’s chief investigator. Blood and alcohol tests are pending. No other injuries were reported. Fatality investigator Edgar Edwards is in charge of the investigation.
