Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan to ride as Argus Grand Marshal

The Krewe of Argus has announced that New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan will ride as Grand Marshal in its parade on March 4. Argus traditionally rolls along the Metairie parade route on Mardi Gras day, followed by truck floats in Elks Jeffersonians and the Krewe of Jefferson. The parade theme this year is “Argus, The Storyteller.” Jefferson Parish Council Chairman Elton LaGasse will reign as King, alongside the Queen, Diana Lynn Netterville.

This past season was Ryan’s first with the Saints, and he resurrected a defense that finished last in the NFL in 2012. Ryan led the unit to a No. 4 ranking as New Orleans advanced to the divisional round of the playoffs. Such an improvement was unprecedented since the NFL merged with the AFL in 1970.

“We’re a prideful group, we’ve worked hard and we’ve achieved a lot more than probably a lot of people thought we could,” Ryan said this past season. “But we’re not done yet.”
