Slidell police name suspect in Thursday fatal shootings Slidell police name suspect in Thursday fatal shootings Incident left 2 dead, 6 injured Thursday Advocate staff report Dec. 29, 2013 Comments Slidell police on Friday identified Jamieon Chatman, 22, as the man they are seeking in connection with the Olde Town shooting that left two dead and six wounded early Thursday morning. Chatman is wanted for two counts of second-degree murder and six counts of attempted second-degree murder. Gunshots rang out around 1:30 a.m. Thursday in Slidell’s Olde Town bar district, resulting in multiple victims. According to witnesses, as the bars were closing, a fight broke out near the intersection of First and Cousin streets. During the altercation, several shots were fired into the crowd, and eight people were struck by bullets. Two of the victims died as a result of their injuries: 22-year old Errol Scott and 23-year-old Mark Womack, both of Slidell. Scott was pronounced dead at the scene, and Womack died later at a local hospital. Police Chief Randy Smith said Friday, “We are asking for help from our community to assist us with putting this criminal behind bars. As I mentioned yesterday, anyone caught assisting Jamieon Chatman will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.” Slidell police and U.S. marshals are looking for Chatman.
