North Carolina man killed in St. Charles Parish accident North Carolina man killed in St. Charles Parish accident Advocate staff report Nov. 05, 2013 Comments A North Carolina man was killed Saturday morning in St. Charles Parish when he was hit by a pickup truck while standing or walking on U.S. 90, State Police said. Wadie Ray Willis, 46, of Bakersville, N.C., died at the scene. The accident occurred on U.S. 90 eastbound at Pier 90 at about 2:20 a.m., police said. Tramaine Leday, 32, of Lafayette, was driving a 2013 Ford F-150 in the right lane when he struck Willis. Speed and impairment did not appear to have been factors in the crash, State Police said, but Leday submitted to a chemical test and toxicology tests will be performed by the State Police Crime Lab. Toxicology results for Willis are pending an autopsy. The crash remains under investigation.
