Read columnist and photographer Steven Forster’s coverage of New Orleans’ social events at The New Orleans Advocate.

Events featured in this edition:

• Voices of Love: Halloween New Orleans, a benefit weekend for Project Lazarus, included a jazz and gospel brunch at the House of Blues. The choir of St. Peter Claver Church was among those lending their voices.

• Two for the Books: With fans of their books lined up to meet them, writer Anne Rice signed “The Wolves of Midwinter” and son Christopher Rice autographed “The Heavens Rise” at the Garden District Book Shop.

• Patrons of the arts: The Ogden Museum of Art’s “O What a Night” preview party drew art-lovers to the home of Dathel and John Georges. Funds raised at “O What a Night” allow the Ogden to continue its mission of showcasing Southern art.
