Suspect arrested in Violet murder Suspect arrested in Violet murder Advocate staff report Oct. 13, 2013 Comments St. Bernard Parish sheriff’s detectives on Wednesday made an arrest in a murder in Violet, less than a day after the shooting death occurred. Grid Reddick, 18, was arrested in the killing of Truy Jones and booked with second-degree murder, Sheriff James Pohlmann said. Jones was shot to death a little before 8 p.m. Tuesday in the 3100 block of Daniel Drive. He died on the scene. Reddick, who moved to St. Bernard two months ago from Plaquemines Parish, has cooperated with investigators, Pohlmann said. “Detectives worked hard on this case, and it is satisfying to make an arrest in less than 24 hours,’’ the sheriff said. “We enjoy good cooperation with the community, which is vital in such cases.’’ Pohlmann did not identify a motive in the slaying. Jones’ killing was the third murder this year in St. Bernard Parish.
